The shockingly shocking story of "Ghosts on Vinyl"!
When Glenn moved into his attic apartment in historic downtown Princeton, New Jersey, he had no idea that he would soon be having an encounter with the supernatural. One night, after finding hundreds of records in four huge boxes behind a wall in the bedroom, Glenn began having sensorially vivid dreams of four girls either playing or singing insanely catchy tunes which were completely unknown to him. The girls, whom he suspected were the "ghosts" of females who had lived in his apartment at some point, would sometimes completely rock out, while at other times they would play gentle ballads or bubbly pop tunes. In fact, every dream would bring a different type of song.
Furthermore, after waking, Glenn would try to hum these dream-songs for his friends (which proved difficult at times since the music was other-worldly in origin and often defied all known musical conventions and genre rules), and they too were unable to identify the melodies! Soon afterwards, Glenn began feverishly trying to recreate the songs he had heard by writing down lyrics and chords, cobbling together crude electronic voice recordings, and recruiting
paranormally-attuned friends and colleagues to channel the (benign) spirits through their voices and instruments. He recently decided (in the interest of the emerging field of paranormal-musicology) to release a series of these "ghost pop" song-experiments.
In addition, Glenn believes he has come to develop a spiritual-neural bond with the deceased ladies, and considers himself their "manager" or "agent" on the side of the living. Dubbing them GHOSTS ON VINYL, he has recently learned their individual names (Melanie, Misty, Mona and Polly) and continues to discover more about their personalities and histories everyday. It is Glenn's fondest hope that he will one day be able to harness enough collective psychic energy and mass neuro-intentionality to actually make GHOSTS ON VINYL, for the first time ever, materialize for their fans (AKA "FAN-toms") in public and play together "LIVE!!!"
Will it happen? Could it happen? Only time will tell...
